Job Title: SEN KS2/3 Teacher

Location: Cheshire, Wilmslow

Contract Type: Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 - £44,870

Essential Criteria: PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher status

  • Experience in achieving outstanding outcomes

  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN

  • Experience of working with young people with an ASC

  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures

  • Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people

  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety.

  • Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.

  • A flexible approach, a high level creativity and the ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs

The role:

Amongst a number of other new roles, The school are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to start in September 2024

 

They will be offering a broad curriculum leading to Entry /Functional and where possible GCSE qualifications alongside a life skills pathway to positively impact social skills, personal development and employability.

 

The school are looking to appoint someone with experience of delivering outcomes for young people who are of upper primary or secondary age but working below age related expectations and on a life skills/ functional pathway. Experience of teaching a range of subjects across the National Curriculum would be advantageous.

 

As a Class Teacher, your role will be to provide high quality teaching that will enable pupils to make progress not just academically but socially and emotionally. You must be creative and have high expectations. An understanding of ASC would be useful to support the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum to enable the pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas.

 

To facilitate this, you’ll plan and deliver lessons across a number of subjects that support young people, building self-esteem and confidence.

 

You’ll supervise and provide support and guidance to the Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants and play a key role in their Professional Development Reviews.

 

Naturally, you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity. Additionally; you will also be expected to carefully monitoring the health, well-being and personal care of all pupils; informing Pastoral/clinical/ SEND support teams and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.
