Position: SEN Teacher

Location: Hertfordshire, Royston

Salary: £30,000 - £44,870 (M1-M6)

Hours: Full time - Term Time Only (40 hours full time)

Your Qualifications:

• PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training

• Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations

• Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning particularly sensory lead curriculums

• Positive team working, being able to contribute to our established team

• Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting and recording

• The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class

• The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

This school is an independent special day school which provides a highly specialist learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 who have a range of PMLD, MLD and SLD needs including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and associated difficulties, who require an individualised, specialist approach.


Many of the students have complex medical needs and sensory/ physical impairments.


The students are supported to manage sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, and difficulty with transitions which is often demonstrative through their behaviours.
